I love old hymns. I mean a lot. While stations like K-Love do make me happy, there is something to be said for the hymns many of us grew up with, they move me in a way that contemporary music can’t at times.
This week, in my efforts to read more, I stumbled upon an old hymnal I’ve had for a long time. I flipped through to familiar songs but also began to realize how many in the book were unknown to me. I stumbled upon one I’d never heard of and in the midst of the current madness, it spoke to me.
I could almost hear Helen Reddy singing,
“I am woman, hear me roar!”
Anyway, just thought I’d share in case it might touch one of you. I’m sharing it in its exact wording in the book… I just love where it says “women in unison.”
I Am a Woman
Reference: A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30.
Women in unison.
By Claire Cloninger
I am a woman called to be a servant,
bound by the grace Your love imparts.
Lord, make me humble, teach me to follow,
make me a woman of Your heart.
I am a woman called to speak wih wisdom,
shining a light that will lead to You.
Lord, give me courage to be your witness,
make me a woman of Your truth.
I am a woman purchased by Your mercy,
bought by the love that will spare no cost.
Lord, make me holy, loving you only,
make me a woman of Your cross.
Have an amazing Thursday – and yes, I’ve confirmed it’s Thursday:)
Love,
Tracey

I am dying to hear it sang. I am looking everywhere. I stumbled on it at church today.
Just a Crazy Girl
I’ve not heard it sang yet either, I don’t recall it if I have, I would too as well!
