There is a Japanese art form that magnifies the breaks in something rather than trying to hide them because they believe it makes the art more beautiful. It is called Kintsugi and it is beautiful.

As humans, I believe each broken piece of us is revealing, important, and significant to the piece beside it… for without it, we would be incomplete. Like breaking a vase and gluing it back together, what if one piece couldn’t be found…. it just wouldn’t be the same. But together, they emerge into something magnificent. So do you.
This is for the broken.

Her Reemerging
She saw the broken pieces there,
parts of her that had shattered,
she had no desire to pick them up,
unsure it even mattered.
And as she wondered what to do,
she saw her Father bend to the floor,
and ever so gently,
He picked up each piece,
until she saw that there were no more.
One by one, He put them together,
with a love she started to feel inside,
and slowly but surely,
her beautiful soul reemerged,
although the brokenness was hard to hide.
Unsure, she looked up, with tears in her eyes,
“God, what will other people see?”
and He replied, with a smile,
“My child, in you,
they’ll see how beautiful
broken pieces can be.”
Love,
Tracey
