The best advice I ever received was:
“When you greet someone, be a
“There you are!”
type of person,
not a “Here I am!”
type of person.
Read that one more time.
So, I say to you,
“There you are!”
and I am so glad.
I’m Tracey, the Crazy Girl behind these pages. I am the mother of three and a {very young} grandmother of one little rockstar who owns me. I grew up on a farm in North Carolina where I live today and while growing up, my crazy Daddy called me crazy too, along with Motor Mouth, Rubber Jaws, and Giggle Box. These should have given me a complex but instead I naively lived up to each name! Eventually came marriage, children, careers, and yes, a lot of happy, followed by loss, divorce, and sadness. The girl I had been disappeared.
Fast forward a bit and love found me, someone special called me Crazy Girl, and it felt like home. The more I heard it, the more she reappeared, and the more it set me on fire to find and love all of her, all of me, and to help others do the same. THIS, my friends, is an adventure!
I believe there’s a bit of good crazy in all of us and a YAY in every day, some small, some hard to find, and some that rock your world! Crazy about sunrises, Christmas, good friends, cooking an edible meal (double Yay!), or maybe just waking up in the morning. I had lost sight of all those things, worrying about everyone else, about what others thought, and those days are over. I’m on a mission to find that yay in every day and help others do the same.
On this page, you’ll find almost everything, except fashion, you don’t want that…. oh, and I don’t do makeup. But you will find…
Find the Yay: This is the main category of my site. It’s where I share my heart in poems and writings and crazy random thoughts, from the tough days to the yays, and all the in betweens. It’s like a diary of a Crazy Girl!
Food: This might should go under Adventures because I love to eat! I love trying new foods and new restaurants and I share them all with you here. This will also include my adventures in the kitchen, quite comical at times, because my sweet Mama could never teach me to cook, so learning later in life is a thing… or at least a fun effort!
Travel: Whew, here we go! I am out finding the best of hometowns USA. Each month is another adventure I’ll share with you, people I meet, things I try as I venture out, and just LIVE! The posts include links to favorite restaurants and lodging and any yays we find along the way.
Shop: Eeeeeeeek! Y’all, this is where my creative juices get to party! My shop is ever-growing with happy gifts for yourself and others and is growing and changing all the time. Most of the items are of my own design, often based on quotes of mine, and when I find something else joyful I can share here, I do, only the good stuff to make you smile! Visit the store anytime, shop, and have some fun!
Moments with Mama: This is where a lot of my writing began as we journeyed with Mama through Alzheimers. It was a 9 year journey and I share the tears, the laughter and yays we struggled to find, and just the emotion of the cruel disease called the long goodbye. I had to keep these writings because they are precious to me, albiet painful at times, but it was a part of our story as a family.
So, grab a cup of coffee, or maybe a bowl of ice cream, and be sure to sign up for my Weekly Yay Mail. You’ll receive a little free gift for doing so along with an email when new articles are posted, when new products are added to the store, specials and gift-aways, and surprises not found anywhere else. What you won’t get is a bunch of junk, I don’t do junk, and I will never, ever share your email with anyone else.
I’ll end with stay in touch! I love hearing from you so message me anytime. Your comments, views, opinions, and love are always welcome!
THANK YOU for supporting this crazy dream of mine by being here and sharing with anyone who might need a little crazy too. I appreciate you!
Now, go be crazy today, giggle like a five year old, no regrets, no apologies.
Tracey (the CG!)
