There are so many things in this world calling out to us, things and places that can never fulfill us the way only He can. Here’s my prayer for you and for me today. Here’s to a day of finding the peace we search for, long for, and so desperately need.

Hey God, it’s me.

So, I’ve been thinking…
well, never mind what I’ve been thinking.
I’m figuring out that I can’t get there from here,
and when I say there,
I mean this place that I keep trying to get to
that I know is only going to fill me with
short-lived, fleeting, temporary things.
And God, I don’t want temporary,
I want long-lasting.
I want long-lasting joy
and long-lasting faith,
I want long-lasting passion.
I want long-lasting time with you, God.
I want long-lasting peace,
and I know that I can only get that from you, God.
Today, I just pray that you show me,
guide me to that long-lasting peace, Lord,
me and anybody else who searches for it.
In Jesus Christ’s name I pray,

This photo was taken at our farm from our backyard. The cross was built by my husband out of cedar trees on the farm and it was where we got married, underneath that cross, overlooking the fields. The hot air balloon was an added bonus this day:)
