Here’s my review: read it!
I am a big Viola Shipman fan. I feel like all of her books are Hallmark movies I get lost in and even though I can kind of hope what’s coming, I love the journey to get there! This is probably my favorite so far of all the books I’ve read by her!
The Secret of Snow is based again in the state of Michigan, Viola Shipman’s home state, this time in winter. Her books have caused me to add Michigan to my bucket list, seriously, although I can’t decide now if I want to go in winter or summer; they both sound beautiful! If you’re reading this and are from Michigan, tell me what you love!
I don’t like to give too much of the book away but I must say this story is so heartfelt, sweet, funny, and telling. I chuckled out loud quite a few times but I also felt the grief and healing and emotion of the main character, Sonny. She’d left Michigan for a reason and when no choice but to return, life changes is so many unexpected ways.
I really don’t like revealing too much, I want you to enjoy unfolding the story yourself, but I highly recommend this book and I hope you’ll read it!

I’ve read these and can vouch for each one, they’re wonderful!
Side note, I know most of you know this if you’ve ever read Viola Shipman but in case you didn’t, Viola is actually a man named Wade Rouse. Viola was his grandmother and he chose to write under her name as a way to honor her. His memories of her inspire so many of his books and he has a way of storytelling that is always heartwarming, charming, emotional, and that always leaves you feeling good inside. I’ve read the three I mentioned above, along with The Secret of Snow, and have loved each one! And there are so many more to go. Yay!
