Dear Friend Who Makes Me Laugh,

I love you.
I need you.
I scroll the FB feed like a pouty toddler hoping to smile at someone’s kids, see a recipe that sounds good, which I’ll save and then can’t remember where I put it, or a cute puppy, or maybe to see whose birthday it is today only to forget to tell them happy birthday.
It feels so mindless.
It is so mindless.
And then, I see it.
A hilarious post, gif, meme, whatever those latter things are.
I can’t even pronounce those correctly, I’m so old.
Is it gif as in Jiff(y) peanut butter or gif as in gif(t)?
And is it meme as in Mimi or meme as in rhymes with team?
Anyway, I see it.
I didn’t even notice whose post it was as I scrolled on by.
But before I even looked, I knew.
I scroll back up ever so slightly, and yes, there’s your name.
I don’t know what makes me laugh more, the post or meme or gif, or that I knew it was you.
You may think sometimes your posts are so silly.
They may be.
You may wonder if you should share it.
Don’t.
You may make me say oh my gosh which is always followed by laughter.
FB can be so many ugg things, seriously, but at least it can share joy by joy sharers like you.
The way I look at it is if your post, meme, or gif, can make one person laugh out loud, snicker, shake their head, think you’re crazy, it was worth it!
Life is insane and every day someone is feeling ugg.
You being crazy and funny and bringing joy, even if for a moment, makes the ugg not as ugg, even if for a moment.
You causing laughter relieves my stress for a bit and maybe someone else’s as I might share the laughter too.
I love you.
I need you.
Please don’t stop being crazy.
The world needs more crazy, the good kind, the ‘make people laugh ridiculously silly-ly’ kind.
